Fufu is to West and Central African cooking what mashed potatoes is to European dishes. Fufu is a starchy sidedish to eat with all sorts of sauce dishes. Fufu is eaten with the right hand: tear a piece of the fufu, make a little ball of it, push a little hole into it and use that as a sort of spoon to eat your soup or sauce.
This fufu is made of cocoyam. Cocoyam contains dietary fibre and higher protein contents than the majority of the tropical root crops. It also contains calcium, vitamin B, vitamin C, vitamin E and magnesium.
