Alloco from Ivory Coast


(The ingredients in bold are available in the webshop.)

For 4 persons:


  1. Cut the tomatoes and onion in pieces.
  2. Pour a little oil in a hot pan and add the onion, tomatoes, salt and crushed penja pepper.
  3. Let if simmer until it becomes a sort of tomato sauce. If preferred, add some spicy sauce with mango.
  4. Cut the cooking bananas in slices and deep fry them in oil until they are brown.
  5. Remove the slices gently from the oil with a skimmer and place them on a plate with a few paper towels.
  6. Also place a paper towel on top of the cooking bananas (=alloco) to remove excess oil.
  7. Serve the sauce with the alloco.
